On the run- chapter eight

Mina was on the rebel base for three weeks. Her mother visited her a few times and she had a lot of fun with Jukira and Fey, but something was missing. She wanted to go to a mission again. She wanted to fight again. When she is bored she goes to the docks and counts the ships which are starting and landing or she climbes into the cockpit of an X-wing. She tried to imagine how it is to be an X-wing pilot like Biggs Darklighter. Even Fey is a rebel pilot, but he prefers to fight on the ground. "If you're successful on a mission you can get your own X-wing", once Admiral Ackbar said. And this was the problem. How should she be successful on a mission if she wasn't on one? Many rebels think she is still a kid. Mina hates it when they think and say that.

Mina sat again in one of the X-wings and looked at the chain she got from Nicaj's father. She was wondered if Nicaj is still alive. Then she remembered that this chain is more than just a normal chain. Mina looked at the crystal on the top of the chain. It was blue with a bit purple. Then Mina sighed and left the X-wing. She wanted to do something with Fey and Jukira, but on her way to them she saw Admiral Ackbar, Senator Organa and another person. It was a young woman she didn't see every before. Mina hid behind the next corner and listened to their conversation. "It's good to see another force user", she heard Senator Organa spoken. Another force user? Is she another Jedi? Mina looked carefully around the corner. The young woman was a Mirialan. Then Mina noticed the double-bladed lightsaber on the young woman's belt. The young woman wasn't much older than her. Suddenly the Mirialan turned around and saw Mina, but she didn't say anything to Organa and Ackbar. She just smiled. Mina smiled back. Then the Mirialan nodded. She wanted that Mina should come out of her hiding place. Mina hesitated. Should she come out? Mina was curious, so she decided to do. She came out and went to the Mirialan, the senator and the admiral. "Hello Mina. I greet you", Senator Organa greeted the Togruta. "Hello",she replied. "Mina, this is Elarya Offee. She's also a force user. Elarya, this is Mina Bonteri-Tano." "Nice to meet you", Elarya said. "Thank you. The same to you!",Mina replied. Then Ackbar turned to Mina. "Mina, we think you're ready for your first mission. Fey and Jukira should accompany you", he told. Mina was glad to hear that. "May I tag along?", the Mirialan asked. Ackbar nodded. "There's a meeting in 20 minutes. Tell Fey and Jukira that they should come too", he added and left. Mina and Jukira nodded.

At the meeting Admiral Ackbar told what the mission was. "The empire arrested a senator and his son because they wanted to tell the rebellion important informations about the empire. Your task is to rescue them." "Where we will find them?", Fey asked. "In the prison for war criminals in Imperial City", a rebel commander answered. "You mean on Corruscant?", Jukira exclaimed. "Yes", another rebel answered. "Are you kidding? The empire would catch us before we arrive at the prison. "That's why you will use the sewerage", the rebel replied. "Looks like we do the filthy job", Elarya mumbled. "Indeed Miss Offee", the rebel agreed. "Don't worry. You will get suits who are practical for that mission. You also will get small flashlights so that you can see something in the dark", Ackbar told and gave them the suits and the flashlights. "I'm not sure if we want to see that filthy stuff in the dark", Mina chuckled and took the flashlight she got. "Alright. You have 10 minutes. Then the ship will start", the commander said and the meeting was over.

10 minutes later they were at the ship. " Be careful and may the force be with you ",Ackbar said and Mina and the others went inside of the ship. The ship started and left Yavin IV. Then they jumped into the hyperspace.
